Privacy Policy.
This policy outlines our commitment to protecting your data in clear, simple terms.
Last Updated: June 23, 2025
1. The Data We Collect (and Why)
In short: We only collect what we absolutely need to run the service. Your scripts are deleted instantly after obfuscation.
We are strong believers in data minimization. Here is a complete list of the data we collect and our reasons for doing so:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we ask for your email address and a password. We need your email to communicate with you and manage your account. Your password is never stored in plain text; it is always securely hashed.
- Your Lua Scripts: You upload your scripts to be obfuscated. This is the core function of the service. We treat your code as highly sensitive, confidential information. Your scripts are used only for the obfuscation process and are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the operation is complete. We do not read, share, or store them.
- Payment Information: For our 'Pro' service, we use a trusted third-party payment processor (like Stripe or Paddle). We do not see or store your full credit card details. Our processor provides us with a token that represents your account, a record of your payments, and your billing information.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the service is used (e.g., number of obfuscations, features used). This helps us understand what's working, fix bugs, and improve the service for everyone. This data is never tied to your personal identity or your specific code.
2. How We Use and Share Your Information
In short: We use your data to provide the service and improve it. We don't sell your data, ever. We only share it with essential service partners.
We will never sell your personal data. We only share information with a few essential third-party services that help us operate Moonix:
- Payment Processors: To handle payments for the 'Pro' service.
- Infrastructure Providers: Our application is hosted on servers from providers like Vercel or AWS. While our data lives on their hardware, they are bound by strict security and privacy agreements.
We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order or subpoena, but we will always aim to do so with the narrowest possible scope.
3. Data Security
In short: We take security seriously and use modern best practices to protect your data.
We implement a range of security measures to protect your information. This includes using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transfer, hashing passwords, and following industry-standard security practices for our infrastructure. While no system can be 100% secure, we are committed to doing our best to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
4. Your Rights and Choices
In short: You have control over your data. You can update it, delete your account, and ask us questions.
You have the right to access and update the personal information associated with your account at any time. You can also choose to delete your account entirely from your account settings. When you delete your account, all of your personal information (like your email and payment history) will be permanently removed from our systems, in accordance with our data retention policies.
5. Children's Privacy
In short: You must be at least 13 to use Moonix.
Moonix is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
6. Changes to This Policy
In short: We may update this policy. We’ll always post the latest version here.
As our service evolves, we may need to update this policy. We will post the revised version here and update the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review it periodically to stay informed.
